The AVENUES program is comprehensive, start-to-finish support offered to clinicians and patients to provide the practical aspects of VNS Therapy™. AVENUES, through certified Case Managers, can coordinate patient education, insurance coverage, reimbursement, patient consultations with surgeons, surgical scheduling and postprocedure follow up.

It is very likely that your patients will have many questions and concerns about VNS Therapy. They may have questions about the surgery, risks, and the quality-of-life benefits after surgery. There will be questions that you prefer to answer, but there may also be questions, such as, “How does the device feel? How will VNS Therapy affect my every day life?” that patients would like to discuss with VNS Therapy patients who have been through similar experiences.

VNS Therapy Phone Facts Teleconference
This group conference call allows patients considering VNS Therapy to hear from patients about life before and after VNS Therapy and learn about the science of VNS Therapy from a physician.

Patients’ Circle
The Avenues Program can put patients considering VNS Therapy in touch with members of Patients’ Circle called Patient Ambassadors (implanted patients) for one-on-one contact (email, phone call, etc).

Quarterly Newsletters and Brochures
These newsletters and brochures will provide specific information to help patients and caregivers at each step of the VNS Therapy decision-making process.

Power To Renew My Life Diary
This diary will enable patients to chart accomplishments and overall quality of life, as well as daily seizure activity in order to better communicate with their physicians.
